As your RCI-Iowa Chapter president for 2017-2018 I want to personally welcome you to the RCI-Iowa chapter website. First of all, please review the listing of current Chapter Board officers and feel free to contact myself for any of the Board Members for any questions and topics you wish to discuss or would like to see in future education presentations.
The Iowa Chapter of RCI is part of the international RCI, Inc. (formerly Roof Consultants Institute) organization. RCI, Inc. is an international association of building envelope consultants. The members specialize in design, investigation, repair, and management of roofing, exterior wall, and waterproofing systems. Membership consists of the following categories:
Consultant – Consultant members shall be those individuals who are practicing consultants, architects, or engineers. They shall not be employees or principals of any business entities controlling or directing the application, manufacture, distribution, sales, or marketing of roofing, waterproofing, and/or exterior wall products and services.
Consultant Affiliate – Consultant Affiliate members must meet the same qualifications as Consultant members.
Industry – Industry members shall be those individuals who are employees or principals of any
business entity directing and controlling the application, manufacture, distribution, sales, or marketing of roofing, waterproofing, and/or exterior wall products and services.
Industry Affiliate – Industry Affiliate members must meet the same qualifications as Industry members.
Quality Assurance Observer – Quality Assurance members shall be independent quality observers.
Facility Manager – Facility Manager members shall be those individuals whose professional responsibilities include management, development, or maintenance of buildings, both public and private.
Associate – Associate members shall be those individuals who are not actually within the roofing, waterproofing, and/or exterior wall industries, such as educators and employees of business concerns or government agencies, but who share an interest in the activities of RCI, Inc.
Student – Student members shall be full-time undergraduate or graduate students majoring in a
construction-related curriculum in an educational institution.
There are numerous benefits for joining RCI, Inc and the Iowa Chapter. The most predominate ones are the ability to network with others in the roofing/building enclosure field and the professional registrations available. These registrations include being a Registered Roof Consultant (RRC), Registered Roof Observer (RRO), Registered Exterior Wall Consultant (REWC), Registered Waterproofing Consultant (RWC) and Registered Exterior Wall Observer (REWO). They are available with sufficient experience and passing of the applicable exam. RCI has a variety of technical articles, publications, educational opportunities, advisories and position statements that are available and applicable for those in the roofing/building enclosure field.
